Kelley (no, not me!)

They say that a pregnant woman glows with beauty, and that could not have been more true for a recent client who is pregnant with two babies and looked so beautiful.

I look forward to meeting and photographing her babies!

Mila

11 day old Mila was the perfect little newborn model.  She slept for most of the session, and when she was awake, she didn’t make a peep until she was hungry.  We took advantage of the beautiful weather and went outside towards the end of the session.

Thanks Mom and Day for an enjoyable shoot.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Abby

I always enjoy being able to watch the beautiful young children that I take pictures of grow up.

Darling Abby recently had her one year old portraits pictures taken. This was the third time that I’ve taken Abby’s pictures, having taken her newborn shots when she was just 10 days old, as well as her six month old portraits.  For her one year old pictures, we decided that lovely High Park would serve as a nice backdrop.

Always with a huge smile, Abby is a pure delight to work with, as are Mom and Dad.

Jenna and Drew

With an early summer heat wave in full effect, there also seems to be a newborn wave in full effect at Little Cupcake Photography.

Several times each week over the past couple of months, and twice in the past two days, I have had beautiful newborn babies in my studio for their portraits.

Recently, lovely Baby Jenna, an extremely content newborn, had her pictures taken. A good healthy baby - weighing more than nine pounds at birth - she was a delight to work with, even though she decided not to sleep much during the shoot. (Little Cupcake photo tip: newborns are of course beautiful when they’re awake, but are great models when they’re napping!)

Baby Drew was the next gorgeous baby to have his pictures done. Only six days old when we did the shoot (Little Cupcake photo tip number two: sometime during the first ten days of a baby’s life is the best time to have newborn portraits done), we got some great pictures of this beautiful baby.

Here are sneak peeks for both sets of Moms and Dads.

Leah and Emma

Being a parent has taught me so much about the trials and tribulations of children. Being a children’s and family photographer has taught me even more. Before I was married, I romanticized the notion of having twins. How great it would be, I thought, to have two lovely babies that I could dress the same, and that would be so emotionally close to each other. While I still think that it would be an amazing experience, I have learnerd that while the great moments of being a parent of twins are plentiful, it’s also a lot of work!!This week I had the amazing pleasure of photographing my first set of twin girls. I’ve taken portraits of several sets of twins before, but they were either both boys, or a boy and a girl. Until this week.Leah and Emma were absolutely lovely babies. With gorgeous long eyelashes, they were not only picture perfect, but also perfect for pictures. Thanks for the great session, girls.

Back from vacation!

I just returned from a family vacation to Florida. What a great time we had!

Among the highlights of our time in the Sunshine State were many trips to the beach on the Atlantic coast, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Sea World and Sea World’s new water park, Aquatica. My girls especially liked Sea World with all of its great water creatures, and Shamu - the park’s main attraction - definitely didn’t disappoint. We were lucky enough to sit front and centre for the whale show, in seats located in the ’soak zone,’ and of course we left the show drenched.

Before we left on vacation, I purchased a point and shoot to make sure I captured all of the memories that might have been missed because I didn’t want to drag the camera I use for professional shoots around. The pictures of Shamu were taken with the point and shoot.
